Evening Activities
Every night at Camp Med-o-lark is special. Med-o-lark takes great pride in the quality and variety of its unique evening activities where campers can be participants or spectators. The staff and campers work hard to create entertaining and original activities that foster a sense of community. Some of the most popular evening activities are staff and camper talent shows, “Campchella,” paint your counselor, sharing nights for promoting new friendships, cabin nights for bonding with friends, campfires for gathering outdoors, special appearances by guest performers, luau nights, lake cruises and the exciting Med-o-lark spark.
Special Events
Med-o-lark has a long-standing tradition of treating campers to a day-long celebration on the 4th of July. Among other activities, campers enjoy a barbecue lunch and patriotic reenactments. Halfway through each session, International food and fun day is held in celebration of our cultural diversity. Filled with color, excitement and fun, Carnival Day is complete with all traditional carnival activities, games, food, and rides.
At the end of each session, there are three full days of festivities for campers to enjoy and celebrate their Med-o-lark experience. There are several theater, dance, circus and musical performances, as well as the formal opening of the art show. Parents are welcome to attend these activities. On the final night of each session, a traditional closing Banquet, complete with Maine lobstah, is enjoyed by all. Campers enjoy a closing show, a concluding campfire, and an extraordinary candlelighting ceremony. On this special night, campers celebrate the Med-o-lark community, their amazing summer, their accomplishments, and perhaps most importantly, the friends they have made whom they will treasure forever.
